1cupdark soy sauce
1/2cupregular soy sauce
3tbspsugar
4slicesginger
3clovesgarlicsmashed
3green onionschopped
2star anise
1cinnamon stick
2tbspShaoxing wine
3cupswater or chicken broth
Instructions
Clean and prepare the chicken.
Combine all ingredients (except the chicken) in a large pot or wok. Bring to a boil.
Submerge the chicken into the braising liquid. Cover and reduce to low heat. Simmer for 30–40 minutes, flipping halfway through.
